Here's another question-or two:
What's the ratio of embryo's destroyed each year (approx. 1 million) vs. babies born from IVF?
What's the difference between destroying embryo's and abortion?
Why do people keep asking these types of questions in the adoption section? Why not in the TTC section, also?
ETA: Ditto to what the "nurse" said...
ETA-2:About 22% of pregnancies end in abortion, or 220 abortions to 1,000 live births.

According to a variety of medical sources, about 20% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage.

20 million abortions/year occur in countries where abortion is illegal. And 26 million abortions/year occur in countries where abortion is legal.

In 1970, 80% of unwed mothers relinquished their children for adoption. By 1983, that number dropped to 4%. This fact is most likely the biggest reason there are far fewer infants available for adoption today than in the past. (From "The Girls Who Went Away, by Ann Fessler).

There are over 100,000 children available for adoption living in foster care. With so many people who "just want to be parents", why are these children left without a permanent home & family?
I'm not sure if everyone 'got' my point on embryo destruction. Basically, no one's screaming at the doors of IVF clinics, demanding that the "parents" of embryos be forced to carry them to term & give them up for adoption or raise them. Nor are they expected to "donate" them. They can choose to destroy the embryos. What exactly is the difference? 'Cuz I don't get it!
Personally, I am ABSOLUTELY against anonymous embryo adoption, donation, etc. About the only borderline acceptable form would be between biological family members...MAYBE.
I'm just tired of the "abortion or adoption" argument. It's LAME, it's POINTLESS. And what do people expect...that women should be FORCED to carry a pregnancy to term then forced/coerced into giving a child up for adoption?
Sounds like the story, "The Handmaid's Tale".

No thank you!
NOTE: I've provided the links for the information I found. I don't know how valid the information is. I do not support making abortion illegal in any form or fashion!
In a perfect world, birth control would never fail & abortion would never need be considered.
I absolutely agree with TISH!
